RESURRECTION is a collection that encompasses rebirth and the acceptance a person learns through their own mental illness. Mental illness such as depression, eating disorders, ADHD & many others can be hard to accept in most Asian cultures. Mental health is a topic that is not openly discussed. Many people do not understand that depression goes beyond “just being sad”, or that eating disorders are much more deeply destructive than what is perceived as dieting in response to that one auntie that tells you of your weight gain every time she sees you. Many who suffer from these illnesses deal with their “shame” silently and alone. Feeling trapped with no one to talk to and without anywhere to turn for support.
